AFTERCARE

Avoid sun exposure until the tattoo is fully healed. Sunblock should be used to protect the tattoo only once the tattoo heals (tattoos should be healed at 1 month)

(If second skin is used)

  1. Remove the second skin 24-48 hours after application. If there is irritation or redness around the second skin, remove immediately.

  2. After removal: hand wash tattoo with warm water and unscented soap.

  3. Pat tattoo dry and apply a light layer of unscented lotion (cetaphil is recommended (for heavy fill tattoos we may recommend a light layer of aquaphor)

(If second skin is NOT used)

  1. Take off wrap 1 hour after application, or when you get home

  2. Follow steps 2-3 above

Week 1

  1. Hand wash your tattoo twice a day with unscented soap, pat dry with a paper towel

  2. Apply a light layer of lotion 2x a day (do not over saturate with moisturizer)

Week 2 - 4 (scabbing will begin)

  1. Wash during showers, pat dry and apply lotion

  2. Apply lotion as needed (1-3 times a day)

DO NOTs:

  • Do not scratch, pick at, or peel your tattoo/scabs. Scabbing is normal. Your tattoo will have flakes coming off as its healing–do not pick at it. This can affect the healing process.

  • Do not go swimming – no soaking in oceans, pools, or baths.

  • No gym / excessive exercise / sweating for the first few weeks.

  • Do not expose your tattoo to the sun during the healing process.

  • Avoid contact between your pets and your new tattoo. Pls no licky licky :(

  • Do not apply sunblock to your fresh tattoo. Sun block is for when the tattoo is fully healed.
